An Enduring Union

An Enduring Union

In 1911, the 21st United Confederate Veterans Reunion was held in Little Rock, Arkansas.  The city of only 41,000 inhabitants hosted over 160,000 visitors over a three day period.  It was the largest UCV reunion ever held and impacted the city beyond the organizer’s wildest dreams.

This interpretive film by Alan Eidson of Eidson Studios, explores the pointed question; “Why do we commemorate the Civil War?” as well as revealing insight to the phenomena of erecting monumentation to a lost cause that swept the south after reconstruction.  It also details the massive undertaking of hosting the 1911 as well as subsequent 1928 and 1949 UCV reunions held in Little Rock.  Within the museum, the documentary is divided into 5 sections and shows throughout the exhibit.
