Sinnemahoning State Park, PA
Remotely nestled in the heart of the First Fork Valley surrounded by the Elk State Forrest in north central Pennsylvania is a beautiful and quaint state park.
Spanning both sides of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, this 1,910 acre park is home to abundant wildlife, including Bald Eagles, Beaver, Black Bear, Elk and Deer. Many recreation opportunities are available including fishing and boating on an impressive 145-acre man-made lake that was made when the George B. Stevenson Dam was constructed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1955.
Eidson Studios, partnering with Taylor Studios, Inc. produced four short documentary vignettes and designed and fabricated an interactive Management Station that houses the videos. The Management Station Interactive consists of a maintenance supervisor’s office with desk, video surveillance monitor, walki-talkis, other office objects and a large LED display that resembles a bulletin board until the visitor selects one of four videos from selections available upon the desk. Visitors are attracted to the interactive by a quad-screen park surveillance monitor and humorous walki-talki banter from park staff including reports of sightings of bear and rattlesnakes in the camping areas. The documentary shorts cover Education, Interpretation and Recreation; Operating the George B. Stevenson Dam; Wildlife Management; and Managing Invasive Species.
